Gola Roti

A typical Bengali "Gola Roti" is an Item that you can prepare within 15  minutes. This is probably the quickest prepared item in DebzHut.  Today we will discuss Gola Ruti. However, you can also prepare "Egg Gola Roti" or "Veg Gola Roti" by just adding Eggs or vegetables and the rest of the process  will remain very same. It's very easy to prepare that you can have with any rich side dish.

 Let's prepare today's item "Gola Roti".


Ingredients:: 

  • Green Chili- 2; finely chopped
  • Maida- 1 cup
  • Water- 1 cup
  • Salt – according to your taste( preferably 1 tsp)
  • Sugar- 1 tsp
  • Refined oil- 2-3 tbsp(for frying)

Preparation::

Gola Roti1. Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl and make a batter like shown in the picture. Make sure you 'do not' make a tight batter, it should be a batter, like Dosha which is light with a good amount of water in it.

2. Keep it for 15 minutes.

2. Now heat a large non-stick pan and add refined oil. Spread the oil all over the pan and pour 1 large spoon full of batter on the pan and spread it all over the pan. If you feel the shape isn't proper then you can add batter to make a proper shape.

3. Flip after 20-30 seconds to fry the other side of the roti. Continue flipping till light brown color appears. Once you feel its fried properly(Light fried roti), take it out of the pan.

4. That's all my friend, it's all ready to serve with rich gravy.

  • Special Note for Egg and Veg Gola Roti:-  Just add Egg or Vegetables like finely chopped onions, carrot, or any other vegetables with the batter and fry following the same simple process.
