Mamma Mia! Red Sauce Pasta

Pasta dishes are generally simple, but individual dishes vary in preparation. Some pasta dishes are served as a small first course or for light lunches, such as pasta salads. Other dishes may be portioned larger and used for dinner. Pasta sauces similarly may vary in taste, color, and texture.

As we all know that Pasta is Italian cuisine and in Italy Pasta is used in different ways. cooked pasta is plated and served with a complimentary side sauce or condiment. Apart from that, they use it as a soup type dish or as a salad. 

Today we will prepare "Red Sauce Pasta"

Red Sauce Pasta 

Ingredients::

To make Red Sauce -
  • 6 large tomatoes
  • 4 cups chopped onions
  • 1 finely chopped garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
  • curry leaves
  • 4 tablespoons oregano
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper powder
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Salt to taste
To make pasta -
  • 2 cup pasta
  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • Cheese 
  • Salt to taste

  1. Make a tomato puree or cut the tomatoes into very small pieces. 
  2. Now put water in a pan and put it on the heat, add tomatoes and boil it properly for 5 minutes then turn it off and keep it aside.
  3. Heat butter in this frying pan and add onion and garlic and fry it on medium flame till the onion turns slight brown(not complete golden brown) in color. 
  4. When it is roasted, add tomato puree and a good little carrot and cook it on medium flame while stirring occasionally. Add chili flakes, curry leaves, and oregano to it. Stir it in between and cook it for 10 minutes till the sauce thickens.
  5.  Now add black pepper powder, sugar and salt and stir it. Mix it very well and cook for the next 2 minutes. Turn off the heat red sauce is ready now.
Preparation of Pasta

  1. Pour 6-7 cups of water into a large pan and boil it on medium heat. Add pasta, oil, and 1 teaspoon salt to it. Allow it to cook while stirring occasionally. 
  2. It will be cooked in about 10 minutes. Keep stirring it occasionally so that it does not get stuck at the bottom. 
  3. To understand if pasta is cooked or not, cut it with a spoon, if it is light hard means if it is ready but if it is very hard then cook it for another 2-3 minutes. 
  4. Now take it completely out of the water and keep it aside for 10 minutes to let the water dry completely.
Final Touch 

Red Sauce Pasta
  • Put the prepared red sauce in the pan and place it on low heat. Add the dried pasta to it and mix it well.
  • Let it cook together for 2-3 minutes. The red sauce pasta recipe is now ready. Garnish the red sauce pasta recipe with cheese on top of it.
